Brecon Volunteer Bureau

Brecon Volunteer Bureau
Brecon Volunteer Bureau is now part of Powys Volunteer Centre but has been well established for over 20 years. We both recruit volunteers and receive requests from other community groups and individuals. We work with both voluntary sector and statutory authorities in the community. In the main we recruit for other local groups serving vulnerable people, mostly elderly or disabled. This might be driving, shopping, befriending, dog walking, wheel chair pushing, entertaining etc. We may run our own projects as funding dictates, at the moment this is limited to a Litter Picking Scheme and Car Driver service. We regularly have fund raising events by way of promotional fairs and coffee mornings. The office is situated in the centre of Brecon town and is open from Tuesday to Friday 10 - 1. People are welcome to call in for an informal chat to explore potential volunteering opportunities.
