Powys Carers Service & Powys Young Carers
Powys Carers Service & Powys Young CarersWe provide support to Young and Adult Carers of any age (currently 5 to 97 years old) who provide significant unpaid care to a friend or relative who needs it. This might be because of a physical or learning disability, mental health or substance misuse problems, Alzheimers, dementia or a range of other illnesses and condition.
Our service is community based and is available to anyone in Powys via a network of Adult and Young Carer Outreach Workers who can visit carers at home or at a place of their choice in the community.
We provide:
A free and confidential advice and information service
An advocacy service
Emotional support
Signposting to specialist services
Peer group support
Focus groups
Activities and access to training
Help for groups of Carers with specific concerns to have a voice and a say in the services they receive.
